Recorded in Los Angeles and released as the band was navigating real personal turbulence, Turn Blue finds Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney stretching toward the warmth of 70s AM soul and classic rock balladry, a mood that sits closer to early Auerbach solo work than anything in the Keys' catalog. The psychedelic haze here owes as much to vintage FM radio as it does to the Akron basement blues where the duo started.

This eighth album from the Ohio garage rock duo is the follow-up to their 2011 breakthrough smash, El Camino. Recorded once again with Brian "Danger Mouse" Burton, the album sees the band change direction from its traditional raw blues-rock style toward a looser, smoother sound influenced by psychedelic soul. The singles "Fever" and "Turn Blue" are included.
