Released the same week as Altamont, Let It Bleed arrived as both prophecy and eulogy for the idealism of the '60s. Brian Jones had died that July, and Mick Taylor steps in here, his presence quietly reshaping the Stones' sound toward the blues-drenched, dangerous territory they'd mine through Exile on Main St. Side two alone, from "Midnight Rambler" to "You Can't Always Get What You Want," is as potent a closing run as rock has ever produced.

The Rolling Stones’ groundbreaking multi-platinum selling album Let It Bleed was released in late 1969, charting at #1 in the UK and #3 in the US. The Rolling Stones, at this point already a critically and commercially dominant force, composed and recorded their eighth long player (tenth for the U.S.) amidst both geopolitical and personal turmoil. The second of four Rolling Stones albums made with producer Jimmy Miller (Traffic, Blind Faith), Let It Bleed perfectly captures the ominous spirit of the times with “Gimme Shelter,” the opening track.

The Let It Bleed (50th Anniversary Edition) single 180g LP includes the stereo version of the album, with restored original artwork and printed inner sleeve. The 2019 stereo remaster has been engineered by eleven-time Grammy®-winning mastering engineer Bob Ludwig.
