Tortoise – Tortoise (LP Vinyl)

Chicago's Tortoise essentially wrote the post-rock playbook before anyone had a name for it, and their 1994 self-titled debut is where it all began. Rooted in the city's fertile early-90s underground, the record introduced a group of musicians who treated rhythm as architecture, drawing on dub, minimalism, and jazz without belonging to any of them.
