Product Details

Before Nashville knew what hit it, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jessi Colter, and Tompall Glaser were rewriting the rules of country music from the outside in. The Outlaw movement they helped ignite in the mid-70s drew a direct line from Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzell through the Texas dancehall circuit, prioritizing raw authenticity over the polished Nashville Sound that had dominated for decades.

The original RCA release of this classic mid-'70's recording featured 4 trendsetting artists: Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jessi Colter and Tompall Glaser; it became the first country music album to achieve platinum-selling status. This digitally re-mastered re-release (appearing for the first time on CD) contains 9 additional "lost tracks" and a new Steve Earle produced recording by Waylon and Willie of Steve's Top 20 song, "Nowhere Road."
