Hubbard had already logged serious sideman time with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and on landmark Blue Note sessions, and that grounding gives this Atlantic debut a confident, swinging authority that rewards close listening.

Trumpeter Freddie Hubbard's first LP on Atlantic Records was released in 1967 and it includes James Spaulding, Albert Dailey, Bob Cunningham, Otis Ray Appleton and Ray Barretto.
