The Hague's finest had been at it since 1961, and by the time Bloody Buccaneers arrived, Golden Earring had spent three decades proving they could outlast every trend thrown at them. The band's return to a harder, guitar-forward sound connected directly to the roots that had made "Radar Love" a driving classic nearly two decades earlier, reminding a new generation why this Dutch institution never needed qualifying.
During the 80s, Golden Earring was heavily influenced by electronic music. Bloody Buccaneers, released in 1991, was much more guitar-driven and the Earring sounded more self-assured than during the recordings of their previous albums. The fans embraced this sound and the album became a huge international success. The song "Going To The Run", about a Hell's Angel who tragically died in an accident, instantly became a Golden Earring classic. It remains a well-loved track among fans and is often regarded as one of the standout songs from the album. Bloody Buccaneers is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on translucent red vinyl and includes an insert.
