Before Jefferson Airplane reshaped rock history, before Hot Tuna became a institution of American roots music, Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady were two young players working through the blues and folk traditions that would define their entire careers. These informal early recordings capture that formative moment raw and unfiltered, a direct line back to the pre-Airplane years when the musical vocabulary these two would carry for decades was still being assembled.
Twenty-six never-before-released tracks from the original members of Jefferson Airplane and current members of Hot Tuna. These are tracks that Jorma and Jack recorded in the 1960s before Jefferson Airplane. The double vinyl package includes an OBI side spine, gatefold jacket and printed inner sleeves with never-before-seen photos of Jorma and Jack from the 1960s. Pressed on Gold Nugget vinyl.
