Director Jonathan Demme and the band built the show from scratch, literally, opening with David Byrne alone onstage with an acoustic guitar and a boombox, adding musicians one by one until the full ensemble arrived. The result remains the gold standard for live concert filmmaking, and the music holds up just as powerfully on its own.

15th Anniversary Remastered Edition includes all of the songs from Jonathan Demme's landmark documentary film of the same name, plus seven additional previously unreleased live tracks. The album was an artistic and commercial triumph when it arrived in September 1984. The film had people dancing in theatre aisles while the soundtrack sold over two million copies. Just last year, the Library of Congress added 'Stop Making Sense' to the National Film Registry in recognition of it's cultural, historical, and aesthetic significance.

Tracklist

1. Psycho Killer (4:24)

2. Heaven (3:41)

3. Thank You For Sending Me An Angel (2:09)

4. Found A Job (3:15)

5. Slippery People (4:00)

6. Burning Down The House (4:06)

7. Life During Wartime (5:51)

8. Making Flippy Floppy (4:40)

9. Swamp (4:30)

10. What A Day That Was (6:00)

11. This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody) (4:57)

12. Once In A Lifetime (5:25)

13. Genius Of Love (4:30)

14. Girlfriend Is Better (5:06)

15. Take Me To The River (5:32)

16. Crosseyed And Painless (6:11)

UPC: 724352245321
Label: EMI Import
Release Date: 9.7.00
Format: CD

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1041/7172/files/packshot-talking-heads-stop-making-sense-deluxe-edition-import-cd-cd-relix.jpg?v=1794026891
