Tool – Undertow (CD)

Tool's 1993 debut full-length arrived at a moment when alternative metal was finding its footing, and it hit harder than almost anything else in that space. Recorded with producer Sylvia Massy, *Undertow* introduced the band's signature locked-groove heaviness and Maynard James Keenan's coiled, psychologically dense lyricism to an audience that hadn't heard anything quite like it. The clean version trims a handful of tracks but leaves the core vision intact.
