The summer of 1986 was a proving ground. After David Lee Roth's acrimonious departure, skeptics were everywhere, but the 5150 tour silenced them night after night. Hagar's vocal power gave Eddie room to push the band into new harmonic territory, and the New Haven shows caught that momentum at full boil, before the world had fully processed just how seamlessly the transition had landed.

Live in New Haven, CT 1986 captures the band's newly retooled lineup of Sammy Hagar, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, and Michael Anthony in raw, peak form during their triumphant '5150' tour. Two consecutive New Haven summer shows were originally recorded for Van Halen's 'Live Without A Net' video release. This performance features the band tearing through an exhilarating mix of hits, album cuts, covers, and soon-to-be classics.
