Product Details

Albert King's left-handed, upside-down Flying V was one of the most distinctive voices in all of blues, and his influence runs through Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and virtually every guitarist who came after him. Recorded at Stax in Memphis, "I'll Play the Blues for You" captured King at the peak of his powers, blending deep Southern soul with his signature string-bending attack in a way that felt effortless and inevitable.

I’ll Play the Blues For You is the 1972 album from legendary guitarist, singer, and songwriter, Albert King. King boasts warm vocals and soaring guitar solos with perfectly framed arrangements. The title track was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2017 and remains a favorite. Released in partnership with Acoustic Sounds, the album has been (AAA) remastered from the original tapes by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed on 180-gram vinyl. A tip-on jacket completes the package.
