For the record collector who grew up on college radio and still believes a good guitar record deserves a proper pressing, this page pulls together 226 titles across alternative rock vinyl and CDs, from landmark albums to live documents.
The selection covers a wide stretch of the genre. Nirvana appears twice: Nevermind on vinyl LP and MTV Unplugged in New York, also on vinyl LP. The Strokes' Is This It is here as a limited edition vinyl LP, alongside Pixies' Doolittle on vinyl LP and Red Hot Chili Peppers' One Hot Minute on vinyl LP. Pearl Jam's Rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991-2003): Volume 2 arrives as a 2xLP. Mark Lanegan Band's Blues Funeral is also a 2xLP, on 4AD. The Libertines' self-titled record is available on vinyl LP via Rough Trade. On the CD side, Interpol's Turn on the Bright Lights, Silversun Pickups' Swoon and Pikul, Sublime's self-titled, and Title Fight's Shed all have a place in the catalog. The Jerry Garcia Band's GarciaLive Vol. 1 and GarciaLive Vol. 2 round out the live section on CD, representing the overlap between the broader rock world and the community Relix has always called home.
Why buy from Relix
Relix has covered the Grateful Dead, Phish, and the wider rock and roots world since 1974. That history informs how we stock the store: the titles here are chosen by people who read the same magazines they sell. The Relix Sessions series, live recordings produced by Relix and pressed to vinyl on the Relix Vinyl label, sits at the center of what makes this store distinct. Beyond that, the collection reflects decades of paying attention to what actually holds up, from major-label cornerstones to smaller independent releases that deserve a longer shelf life.
All titles are new and sealed. Pre-order titles display a street date and ship when the label releases them. Vinyl ships in protective packaging designed for LPs. CDs ship in protective packaging.
If this page is your entry point, there is more to explore. The Rock Vinyl & CDs collection broadens the scope across classic and contemporary rock. Indie Rock & Pop Vinyl & CDs goes deeper into independent releases and left-of-center pop. And the CDs collection gathers disc formats across every genre carried in the store.
