Iry Lejeune – Viens Me Chercher (LP Vinyl)

Iry LeJeune is the patron saint of Cajun music, a blind accordion player from Church Point, Louisiana whose recordings in the early 1950s revived a fading tradition and laid the foundation for everything that followed. His raw, keening vocals and two-row accordion style drew directly from the older French Creole sound, keeping the language and the ache of it alive at a moment when both were at risk of disappearing entirely.
