Formed in Seattle around 2009, The Head and the Heart built their following the old-fashioned way, playing Pike Place Market and passing around self-recorded copies of this debut before Sub Pop came calling. The songs here, including "Lost in My Mind" and "Rivers and Roads," spread through the folk and Americana underground the way the best music always does, person to person, show to show.
