For listeners who follow the thread from Texas roadhouses to Nashville back rooms to wherever the song leads next, this page collects New West Records releases across vinyl, CD, and cassette in one place.
The catalog here runs deep. Roy Buchanan's Live From Austin, TX is pressed on blue vinyl. Richard Thompson's Live From Austin, TX arrives as a colored 2xLP. Dwight Yoakam's Live From Austin, TX comes on colored vinyl as well, spread across two records. All Them Witches' ATW is a colored 2xLP. American Aquarium's Lamentations is on colored vinyl. Slim Dunlap's Old New Me / Times Like This is an RSD 2xLP. On the CD side, the collection includes Steve Earle's Live From Austin, TX, Kris Kristofferson's Live At Gilley's - Pasadena, TX: September 15, 1981, James McMurtry's The Black Dog and the Wandering Boy, and the Big Band of Brothers Jazz Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band. Cassette listeners will find Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson both represented with their own Live From Austin, TX releases.
Why buy from Relix
Relix has covered the Grateful Dead, Phish, and the wider world of jam and roots music since 1974. That history informs how we stock the store. New West sits squarely in the territory we have always written about: Americana, blues, country, and the artists who move between those categories without asking permission. Relix also produces the Relix Sessions series, live recordings produced by Relix and pressed to vinyl on the Relix Vinyl label, which gives us a particular feel for what a well-documented live performance means on wax. When we carry a label's catalog, it is because the music fits the conversation we have been having for fifty years.
Every title here is new and sealed. Pre-order listings show a street date and ship when the label releases them. Vinyl ships in protective packaging designed for LPs.
If you want to keep digging, the Americana, Folk and Country Vinyl Records collection covers that corner of the store in full, the Blues Vinyl Records collection pulls together the electric and acoustic sides of that tradition, and the CDs Straight from the Vault collection is worth a look if you are shopping by format rather than label.
