Product Details

Rooted in the coal country and ridge lines of Southwest Virginia, 49 Winchester arrived fully formed on their debut, offering a strain of country-soaked rock that owes as much to the mountains around them as to any radio influence. Isaac Gibson's songwriting carries the weight of a community that doesn't often see itself reflected in mainstream country, and the band's years of relentless touring since this record's release have turned them into one of the most passionate live draws in the Americana underground.

Hailing from the tiny town of Castlewood, Virginia, 49 Winchester take their name from the street address of the childhood home of lead vocalist/guitarist Isaac Gibson. He and neighbor Chase Chafin formed the group after graduating high school in 2013, adding guitarist Bus Shelton soon afterward; drummer Justin Louthian, keyboardist Tim Hall, and pedal steel guitarist Noah Patrick later rounded out the lineup.

49 Winchester released their eponymous debut album in 2014, a record anchored by ten original songs from Gibson. The group then set out on the road, supporting the album and building an audience through constant roadwork. Then, In 2018 the band released their second album titled, The Wind. The band continued to tour on the road with crowds growing along the way. The Wind features such hits as, “So Damn Sweet” and “Veruca Salt.” In 2020 the band released their largest record to date, III  and began garnering a lot of attention based on the performance of the songs, “Hays, Kansas” and “Everlasting Lover.”
