African Steel - Slide Guitar Classics (LP Vinyl)

Slide guitar traveled to Africa through a tangle of colonial-era recordings, missionary influence, and commercial 78s, then came back transformed into something entirely its own. The players collected here bent the instrument's possibilities in directions American country and blues players never imagined, working in tunings, rhythms, and vocal traditions rooted deep in southern, central, and eastern African soil.
