Released in 2009, the French duo's fifth studio album arrived a decade into their run as the quiet architects of a certain kind of celestial pop, one that drew as naturally from Debussy as from Moog-soaked kosmische. Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel had long since proven they could soundtrack a mood better than almost anyone, and *Love 2* leaned further into that dreamlike drift, with contributions from Victoria Legrand of Beach House deepening its hazy, hypnotic pull.
