Product Details
Alison Moyet has always been a vocalist first, and Voice gave her the runway to prove it without qualification. Coming between years of sporadic output, the album found her stepping entirely outside the singer-songwriter frame she'd occupied since her Yazoo days, surrendering to the songs rather than the spotlight. Anne Dudley's orchestral settings are a perfect foil for a voice that has always carried more emotional weight than the pop world quite knew what to do with.
Voice (2004) is the sixth studio album recorded by Alison Moyet and is reissued on Limited Edition Solid White Marble Heavyweight Vinyl. The album sees Moyet interpret an eclectic selection of songs by other composers, accompanied by a classical orchestra. Produced and arranged by Anne Dudley, the album highlights Moyet's breathtaking range on exceptional classics like 'Windmills of Your Mind', 'La Chanson des Vieux Amants', and 'Bye Bye Blackbird'. Voice reached the UK Top Ten Albums Chart and was certified Gold. Moyet said in 2004: 'I am quite a prolific singer, in the sense that I have a versatility and I don't want to be limited purely to the songs that I can write.' ""Flawless."" The Observer (2004)
