Product Details
Chicago's Alkaline Trio built their reputation on brutally honest songwriting and a devoted fanbase that followed them from basement shows to festival stages, and *My Shame Is True* finds Matt Skiba and company leaning into the melodic darkness they've always balanced against raw punk energy. Released in 2013, it sits at an interesting point in their catalog, after years of refining what it means to be Alkaline Trio without softening the emotional core that made *Goddamnit* essential.
It's been over a decade since Alkaline Trio released their first full-length album, Goddamnit. In that time, they've toured the world, sold over a million records and expanded their sound beyond their original straight-ahead punk style, incorporating more melody and production. With My Shame Is True, their eighth studio album, Alkaline Trio have honed their songwriting craft to a new high, coming with their strongest set of songs to date.
