Recorded in a converted church in the Canadian countryside, Neon Bible arrived in 2007 as Arcade Fire's ambitious, orchestral-dark follow-up to Funeral, leaning into pipe organs, sweeping strings, and a brooding unease that felt more stadium-gothic than anything in their indie rock peer group.
