Baby Bertha were exactly that kind of nearly-lost story, gigging hard along the English south coast while this debut circulated among only a handful of hands, keeping the music hidden for decades until now.

A British heavy blues/metal band formed in late 1971 from the remnants of the band Relative. The group initially underwent several lineup changes before solidifying with Dave Ellis on guitar and vocals, Desmond Law on drums, Ian McLaughlin on bass, and Roger "Proff" Perry on rhythm guitar. Throughout 1972, Baby Bertha performed extensively across the south coast of England, from Hastings to Southampton, developing a reputation for their energetic live shows and powerful, guitar-driven sound. This blistering heavy blues rock LP was issued in 1972 in an edition of only 50 copies, making it twice as rare as their legendary 1973 follow-up as Charge. Led by searing heavy guitar somewhere between Mayall and Hendrix, original copies of Baby Bertha are thought to be worth £3000+
