Product Details
Odelay landed in 1996 like a cultural grenade, colliding hip-hop, country, folk, and noise rock in ways that made the music press scramble for new vocabulary. Beck had already signaled his magpie instincts with Mellow Gold, but this was the record where his collaboration with the Dust Brothers pushed sampling-as-composition into genuinely new territory, drawing comparisons to Paul's Boutique in the best possible way.
- June marked the 20th anniversary of this double-platinum-certified album
- Features fan faves “Where It’s At,” “Devils Haircut” and “The New Pollution”
- Won 2 GRAMMY® Awards in 1997: Best Alternative Music Album and Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for “Where It’s At” – this was Beck’s first album to be nominated for Album of the Year
- Produced by Beck with collaborators the Dust Brothers, Mario Caldato Jr., Brian Paulson, Tom Rothrock and Rob Schnapf
- Named Album of the Year by Rolling Stone
