Product Details

Woody Guthrie left behind thousands of unfinished lyrics when he died in 1967, and Nora Guthrie's decision to hand them to Billy Bragg and Jeff Tweedy ranks among the most inspired acts of musical stewardship in recent memory. What emerged across these sessions was something genuinely rare: two distinct artistic voices finding common ground in America's folk roots, breathing melody and life into words that had waited decades to be heard.

Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions brings together all three volumes of Billy Bragg and Wilco’s celebrated interpretations of previously unheard Woody Guthrie lyrics PLUS 16 previously unreleased tracks, including rare demos, alternate takes and live recordings. New liner notes by Bob Mehr.

- Deluxe 7-LP + 7" vinyl box set featuring all three Mermaid Avenue volumes, plus rare and previously unreleased recordings
