The moment Dylan plugged in, the folk world fractured and rock music got smarter. Released in 1965, *Bringing It All Back Home* split the difference between his acoustic roots and full-band electricity, opening with the snarl of "Subterranean Homesick Blues" and closing with the quiet devastation of "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue." It remains the sound of an artist outrunning every category anyone tried to put him in.
