Bob Dylan – Empire Burlesque (LP Vinyl)

Released in 1985, Empire Burlesque found Dylan experimenting with synthesizers and contemporary production at a moment when rock's relationship with the studio was changing fast. Producer Arthur Baker's fingerprints are all over the sound, giving the record a distinctly mid-80s sheen that still divides fans. Closing track "Dark Eyes," recorded as a solo acoustic afterthought, remains one of the quietest, most devastating things Dylan committed to tape in that decade.
