Bob Marley & The Wailers – Survival (CD)

Released in 1979, *Survival* stands as one of Marley's most explicitly political statements, a direct address to the African diaspora at a moment when Zimbabwe's independence movement was reaching its peak. The album's pan-African consciousness runs deep, from the opening rally cry of "So Much Trouble in the World" through the anthem "Africa Unite," and it earned Marley an invitation to perform at Zimbabwe's independence celebration in 1980.
