Liner Notes

Released in 1972, Ace was never really a solo album in the traditional sense. The Grateful Dead served as Weir's backing band throughout, making it as much a Dead artifact as any official release, and songs like "Playing in the Band" and "Greatest Story Ever Told" became cornerstones of the band's live repertoire for decades to come. This anniversary edition reframes that legacy with fresh ears, pairing the original sessions against a new live document that shows how deep those songs still run.

Pairs a remastered new mix of Weir’s solo debut album with a new live version recorded earlier this year at radio city music hall, with Bobby Weir & The Wolf Bros.

Featuring The Wolfpack and special guests Tyler Childers and Brittney Spencer. Original album Remixed by Derek Featherstone and mastered by GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer David Glasser. Produced for Release by Bobby “Ace” Weir and Derek Featherstone.
