Will Toledo spent years building one of Bandcamp's most devoted cult followings before Matador Records came calling, self-releasing a staggering run of albums that established him as one of indie rock's sharpest lyricists. *Teens of Style*, his 2015 Matador debut, drew from that deep catalog of self-recorded work, with Toledo revisiting and reworking earlier material for his first proper label release.

Car Seat Headrest is the project of Seattle singersongwriter Will Toledo. With a vision that is both sweeping in scope and intimately personal, Car Seat Headrest embodies the DIY ethos at its best. Car Seat Headrest began in 2010 in Will’s hometown of Leesburg, Virginia. Needing a place of solitude (and soundproofing) where he could record his often frantic vocals undisturbed, a 17-year old Will set up shop in the family car (hence the name).
