Reflecting the film’s 1950’s setting, Burwell’s score brings together the main elements of the movie using a jazz-influenced chamber ensemble. Staring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, Carol is the story of a forbidden affair between an aspiring photographer and older woman going through a divorce.
