Product Details
The pairing makes more sense than it might first appear. Chuck D built Public Enemy's wall-of-noise confrontation on the same restless urgency that drove The Doors into territory no other band of their era would touch, and Densmore has spent decades proving his politics never clocked out when the band did. Two voices from opposite ends of American music history finding common ground in dissent is exactly the kind of collaboration Record Store Day was built to champion.
Former RSD Ambassador and hip-hop legend Chuck D (Public Enemy) joins forces with The Doors' iconic drummer John Densmore for do+pe = no country for old men. Recorded specifically for Record Store Day 2026, the album blends spoken word, rhythm, and raw social commentary, bridging generations of rebellion and reflection. It includes the RSD Song of the Year ""every tick tick tick."" Previously a RSD exclusive, it will now be widely available in multiple formats, including black vinyl, CD, cassette, and digital. The packaging features original illustrations from Chuck D himself.
