New Orleans has always bred a particular kind of heaviness, and Kirk Windstein's Crowbar distilled that city's humid, crushing weight into sludge metal that influenced an entire generation of heavy bands. Originally released in 1996, *Odd Fellows Rest* found the band stretching toward slower, more melodic territory without sacrificing any of the punishment, sitting at a pivotal moment in their catalog between raw aggression and hard-won emotional depth.

Crowbar, the heavy metal icons from New Orleans, are experiencing a massive resurgence driven by a powerfuldigital strategy and relentless touring. Recently surpassing the milestone of 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, the band has successfully bridged the gap between their 90s sludge roots and a new generation of digital-first fans.
