Product Details

Released in 1974 as Bowie's bleak, Orwellian vision of a dystopian future, Diamond Dogs marked the end of his Ziggy-era glam theatrics and the beginning of something darker and more cinematic. Conceived originally around an abandoned stage adaptation of George Orwell's "1984," the record stands as one of rock's great left turns, a bridge between the Spiders from Mars and the soul-searching that would define his mid-70s Philadelphia period.

Limited 50th Anniversary picture disc vinyl LP pressing. Half-speed master. The first single from the album, the aforementioned 'REBEL REBEL', reached number 5 in the UK and the album would also reach similar heights on both sides of the Atlantic reaching number 1 in the UK and number 5 in the USA.
