Product Details
Dawn Landes built *Bluebird* around the true story of Hazel Jane Raines, a pioneering female aviator who trained pilots during World War II, and the result is a song cycle that sits comfortably alongside the great American storytelling albums in the folk and country tradition. Landes brings a intimacy to historical narrative that few writers manage, making Raines feel immediate and alive rather than archived.
