Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry formed Dead Can Dance in Melbourne before relocating to London, where 4AD's atmospheric aesthetic gave their sound the perfect home. Their self-titled debut arrived in 1984, drawing equally from post-punk, medieval folk, and gothic orchestration in ways that had no real precedent, laying the groundwork for everything from ethereal wave to the global music explorations that would define their later catalog.

This remastered edition of Dead Can Dances 1982 debut includes the four track EP GARDEN OF THE ARCANE DELIGHTS, which was packaged separately in a replica of it's original sleeve with the SACD edition.
