Product Details
Recorded at the Montreux Casino in December 1971 using the Rolling Stones' Mobile Studio, Machine Head captured Deep Purple at their most locked-in, translating the raw power of their live show onto tape with almost no overdubs. "Smoke on the Water" remains one of rock's most recognizable riffs, but the album's real depth lives in the extended interplay of Blackmore, Lord, and Paice across tracks like "Highway Star" and "Space Truckin'," music built for arenas and built to stretch.
1972 release.
