Deftones – Koi No Yokan (CD)

Sacramento's Deftones have always occupied their own gravitational field, bridging metal, shoegaze, and art rock in ways that defy easy categorization. *Koi No Yokan*, released in 2012, arrived as the band's seventh studio album and built directly on the momentum of *Diamond Eyes*, continuing their creative resurgence with Chino Moreno and Stephen Carpenter's guitar interplay at its most atmospheric and locked-in. The Japanese phrase translates roughly to the premonition of love, a title that suits the record's dense, textured emotional weight perfectly.
