Recorded at the same First Avenue stage where Prince filmed "Purple Rain" just three years earlier, this snapshot of the Descendents in their prime captures a band playing like they knew the clock was running out. The tension between Milo Aukerman's dual life as punk frontman and scientist gave the group a singular identity that no other band in the hardcore scene could claim, and that contradiction is very much alive in these performances.
Liveage! Captures Descendents live in 1987 at Minneapolis' First Avenue during the tour for the band's fourth album, All. Dubbed the "FinALL" Tour, it was the last set of dates before the group disbanded so vocalist Milo Aukerman could pursue a graduate degree in biochemistry. Per drummer Bill Stevenson, the release served as a sort of best-of compilation and document of their raw, high energy live show. It features hallmark tracks such as "I'm Not a Loser," "Silly Girl," and "Coolidge," among others.
