Recorded at one of American punk's most storied venues, First Avenue in Minneapolis, this document captures the Descendents at a genuine crossroads. The band that helped define melodic hardcore, blending caffeinated tempos with surprisingly earnest songwriting about girls, food, and suburban alienation, was saying goodbye, at least for a while, before Aukerman headed back to the lab. What you hear is a band burning it all down on the way out the door.
Liveage! Captures Descendents live in 1987 at Minneapolis' First Avenue during the tour for the band's fourth album, All. Dubbed the "FinALL" Tour, it was the last set of dates before the group disbanded so vocalist Milo Aukerman could pursue a graduate degree in biochemistry. Per drummer Bill Stevenson, the release served as a sort of best-of compilation and document of their raw, high energy live show. It features hallmark tracks such as "I'm Not a Loser," "Silly Girl," and "Coolidge," among others.
