Product Details
Released when Parton was still climbing out from under Porter Wagoner's shadow, *Coat of Many Colors* captured her finding her own voice as a songwriter, drawing on Appalachian childhood memories with an intimacy that country radio rarely allowed women at the time. The title track, inspired by a patchwork jacket her mother sewed from rags, became one of the most quietly devastating songs in the genre's history.
Audiophile high quality 180-gram vinyl. Breakthrough 1971 album includes "My Blue Tears" and the smash title track.
