Product Details

Dolly Parton's songwriting legacy stretches back to the mid-1960s, when she arrived in Nashville as a teenager and almost immediately began placing songs with artists across the industry. That instinct for spare, emotionally direct storytelling, rooted in the Appalachian tradition she grew up in, is exactly what makes a project like this feel inevitable rather than nostalgic. The watercolor pressing is a fitting vessel for music this unadorned.

First released August 2016, "Pure & Simple" marked Dolly Parton's stripped-down return to her roots, her seventh #1 country album and first chart-topper in 25 years. Born from intimate 2015 shows at the Ryman and Dollywood, Dolly and quartet captured that same raw intimacy in studio. The title track sets the tone, along with the tender "Forever Love," written for her 50th anniversary. 10 years on, revisit Dolly at her purest with these limited-edition 'Watercolor Dream' LP variant and CD reissues.
