Don Cherry – Sunrise (2-LP Vinyl)

Don Cherry spent the 1970s building a genuinely global music practice, weaving together West African, Indian, and Ornette Coleman-rooted free jazz long before "world music" became a marketing category. Sunrise captures him in that restless, boundary-dissolving mode, part of a decade when Cherry was living communally in Sweden and Scandinavia and treating the record as a collective, cross-cultural ritual rather than a conventional jazz date.
