Product Details

Recorded at Ultrasonic Studios in New York with Allen Toussaint producing and The Meters serving as the backing band, *In The Right Place* captured a rare convergence of New Orleans royalty that would be nearly impossible to replicate. Toussaint's arrangements gave Mac Rebennack's voodoo-blues persona a tighter, more commercial edge without sacrificing a drop of the gutter funk that made him essential.

The best-selling album of beloved New Orleans R&B artist Dr. John is that way for a reason! This 1973 album is blessed with performances from Leo Nocentelli, Art Neville, Ralph MacDonald, Mac Rebenneck and many more, and John is in top form with funky takes on the R&B genre throughout.
