Released in 1975 and recorded alongside the soundtrack for the film of the same name, "That's the Way of the World" became Earth, Wind & Fire's first number one album on the Billboard 200. Maurice White's vision of a band rooted in spiritual purpose and musical precision found its fullest expression here, with Philip Bailey's falsetto and the Phenix Horns pushing tracks like "Shining Star" into genuine soul-music history.
