Recorded in 1977 with the American pub-rock band Clover providing the backing tracks, My Aim Is True arrived fully formed, a debut with the confidence of someone who'd been sharpening these songs for years. Costello cut it before he'd even assembled the Attractions, which makes the chemistry on these recordings all the more remarkable. Going back to the original analog master tapes for this remaster was the right call.

Elvis Costello's classic debut album, My Aim Is True, has been remastered from the original 1977 analog master tapes. The 13-song album features the singles "Less Than Zero" and "Alison," which failed to chart in the U.K.; "(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes," a minor hit; and "Watching The Detectives," which became Costello's first Top 20 single. The album comes in a jewel case with a booklet.
