Embryo has been quietly doing its own thing since the late 1960s, a Munich collective that became one of the most restlessly curious outfits to emerge from the German underground. Where many of their krautrock contemporaries chased electronic abstraction, Embryo always kept one foot in jazz, folk, and the music of the road, absorbing influences from Morocco to India on extended travels that fed directly into their sound. Opal sits in that same spirit of open-eared exploration.
