Product Details

Thievery Corporation co-founder Eric Hilton built one of electronic music's most distinctive catalogs by treating genre as a suggestion rather than a boundary, and that instinct carries fully into his solo work. Where Thievery mapped the globe sonically, *Easy Underground* pulls inward, drawing on the kind of late-night, eyes-closed listening that defined the rare groove and crate-digging cultures Hilton came up through in Washington, D.C.

The Easy Underground is an homage to Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation's long-standing fascination with the elegant, cinematic, and frequently overlooked sounds of the 1960s and ’70s. But this is not an exercise in nostalgia. Rather, Hilton approaches these sounds as a producer who has spent decades studying the spaces between genres—where Brazilian music meets jazz, where orchestral pop meets psychedelia, where lounge music becomes something stranger, deeper, and more evocative.
