Recorded largely at Dodger Stadium and the band's own Village Recorders studio in Los Angeles, Tusk arrived in 1979 as Lindsey Buckingham's deliberate swerve away from the polished commercial juggernaut of Rumours, drawing inspiration from post-punk and the DIY ethos then reshaping rock. The title track famously featured the USC Trojan Marching Band, a genuinely strange and inspired move that still sounds like nothing else in the Mac's catalog.
