Kieran Hebden was already reshaping what electronic music could feel like when he recorded this material, pulling warmth from sampling and texture in ways that blurred the line between club music and something far more intimate. The pieces collected here capture a particular moment in his evolution, before the dancefloor experiments of later years, when patient, intricate sound design was the whole point.
