Product Details

George Clinton handed Bernie Worrell the keys to the cosmos on his very first Funkadelic session, and what followed was one of the most unhinged spiritual statements in rock and soul history. The title track alone runs nearly ten minutes of churning psychedelic gospel, equal parts Sly Stone and Sun Ra. This blue mist pressing is the kind of artifact that belongs on the shelf next to your most prized Westbound originals.

Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow is the second album from funk innovators Funkadelic, arriving in 1970 mere months after their trailblazing debut. Famously originating from a single LSD-fueled marathon session, the record saw the band honing their songcraft, while still allowing plenty of space for mind-bending exploratory jams. It marked the official introduction of legendary keyboardist Bernie Worrell, and would go on to chart at No. 92 on Billboard's Pop chart.
